Applications for attestation of documents can be submitted to the Embassy. However if such documents have been issued by any authorities in Sri Lanka that should be certified by the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo with respective seals and signature/s .
Document issued by foreign countries should be counter signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country or its diplomatic representative in the country in which such document has been issued, before the request is made to the Embassy.
The Embassy only authenticates the seal and signature of the officer who had legalized such document and not the contents of the document.

In the absence of such certification on documents, they would not be accepted for attestation.
Letters/documents regarding obtaining of visas are not attested.
Deeds/titles, bank statements, appointment letters, defamatory documents, etc. are not attested.
